Ephesians 6:10-18

As Christians walking in God’s way, doing the things God calls us to do, we will be attacked by the devil. He will do anything he can to tempt us, to force us to turn to the left or the right of the path God has for us. We have the victory in Christ and we have been given the tools – the armour – that we need to stand firm against the devil’s schemes.

Belt of truth – the truth in Scripture holding everything together

Breastplate of righteousness – Christ’s righteousness that covers and protects us

Shoes of the gospel – standing firm and taking the message of Christ to those around us

Shield of faith – the gift of faith which grows as we walk with Jesus, enabling us to trust God to keep His promises

Helmet of salvation – being confident in our salvation, not hiding our faith from others

Sword of the Spirit – the ability to use the word of God to destroy the devil’s temptations

Prayer – “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” – Seeking God’s will, asking for His protection, praying for others.
